Residence Life

First Year Requirement

All first-year students are required to live on campus. We are dedicated to providing students with the most productive learning environment possible. By having first-year students on campus we help ease the transition into both college and sustainable living. First-year halls, in partnership with required Individual Sustainability courses, provide programs and seminars to guide students into a Green adulthood.

Community Houses

After their first year, students have the option to move into community houses. 10-12 students share one house with a specific theme suited to their needs. This specialized housing program gives students the opportunity to work with their housemates toward a common goal. Students can apply as a group with their specific concept. Popular themes in the past have been waste-free living, social media free zone, and community outreach.

Our buildings are not only LEAD certified but run fully sustainable for energy consumption. While being attached to the main campus power grid, each residence hall is equipped with solar panels units on the roof. Effective but environmentally safe cleaning products are used for all bathrooms and public areas. Lighting units are equipped with motion sensors to reduce unnecessary energy output. Even our laundry areas have the most advanced machines to reduce water consumption.
